Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Sitting under the glowing, magical lights of our tree, sipping hot chocolate while walking through the crisp, cool neighborhood gazing at lights that seem to hypnotize me! Reading Christmas books and listening to carols: Yes, its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Christmas is my favorite time of year! But away from all the worldly signs of Christmas, I also remember a tiny baby lying in a manger of hay wrapped in cloths. I can imagine the dank stable smells and the barn animals gazing at the holy babe that would save the whole world! I can see sleepy shepherds eyes and senses becoming alive with wonder because of heavenly angels lighting up the sky with God's glory! And a huge new star too bright too pass by guiding wise men to bless God's son with beautiful gifts! Isn't Christmas amazing!

Enjoy all the parts of this Christmas season, but give Jesus's birth a special place of remembrance in your heart this Christmas! :)

Giving Thanks

Well, its almost thanksgiving! I hope you are cooking up some yummy things! This morning, Mom and I baked our famous chocolate sheath cake(yum!), and this afternoon we are making our delicious bread! But this Thanksgiving, I have really been concentrating on giving thanks to God for the wonderful things He has blessed us with. Take a minute and think about all God has given you(from the most wonderful blessing, Jesus dying on the cross to save you from sin, to tiny things like being able to have clean water or to move)Look at Psalm 100.
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations."

This makes me feel so many things: safe, joyful, thankful, full of love for my God! Think on Psalm 100 this Thanksgiving, and remember to praise and thank God for His blessings! :)
